Sex trafficking according to the National Human Trafficking (2000) is defined as a modern-day form of slavery in which a commercial sex act in induced by force, fraud or coercion, or in which the person induced to perform such an act is under the age of 18 years. Sex trafficking is mostly comprises of force, fraud and underage women or men to engaged in unwilling activities in order to get what they need in life. Most often people are brought to the United State specifically in search of job but little would they know that they have fallen into sex trafficking. Such activities generally tarnishes the image of the community where such practice is condone and moreover gives the people a bad image related to sexually transmitted diseases†¦show more content†¦Every commodity’s valve is a function of the labor time necessary for the production of labor power† (Young 227). In this sense, the victims are used as a commodity to being in profit to their owners just as s laves. Through this quote Marx demonstrates how humans are used as a commodity to bring traffickers power and essentially gain profit. Again an issue of class is a fundamental component of sex trafficking. Young’s framework analysis , â€Å"In a more colloquial and empirical sense, however, the term â€Å"class† also refer to a basic for interaction and conflict, an identity by which people recognize one another, and to that degree class names social group as well as structural positions. The ruling class in the U.S. and in most other societies is a social group, whose members tend to bond with shared culture and world view, to have common interest, and to move within specific institutions† (Young 274). Class forces people to confine in one group in order while creating a social identity for those born into the group. This essentially makes it harder for victims of sex trafficking to define themselves forcing the victims to accept their present situation. Therefore a lack of voice is instilled in the victims.
